Bahadur first appeared in 1978. Written by "Abeed Surti"and later on continued "Jagjit Uppal". It was illustrated by "Govind Brahmania"who usually also illustrated the Indrajal comics covers at that time. First published in 1978 and was named "Laal Inter Bari" (The red brick house) where bahadur (son of the notorius dacoit Vairab singh) made his first apperance.
Phantom comics were also published in the Illustrated Weekly, untill the publication discontinued. In bengali it was published daily in anandabazar Patrika (along with Mandrake on Sundays) and also in the then weekly "Desh" magazine.
Abid Surty also written a couple of non-bahadur indrajal-comics based on real stories. One was about "Sultana" the dacoit who was also called "india's robinhood".
Bahadur's father was one of the most dreaded dacoits of Chambal named Vairab Singh
Sukhia's son Deena was brutally killed by Shaitan Singh an accomplice of vairab singh, who persuaded bahadur a lot not to continue building his organisation. He and another dreaded dacoit Kabli-khan raided bahadur's organisation only to be defeated by bahadur in a hand to hand fight. In bengali this was named as : "Bahadur o kabli-khan"
Lakhan separated from the groups of shaitan singh and joined bahadur. In the same episode bahadur met his future wife Bela( the princess of Pipli). bengali name: "bhadur o sada bhut er adda"(bahadur and the den of white ghosts)
later after the sucessful establishment of his organisation Bhadur went to Mumbai for training in martial arts.He defeated the mumbai underworld mafias. Bengali name: "bahadur o kung-fu raja ra",or Bahadur and the kung-fu kings"
